About me

The story behind

Hi, everyone!

I'm Nicky, a crafter, a cosplayer, an artist, a creative person. A self taught hungarian girl, living in the UK.

Freya's Madpeak is my small handmade business based in Leeds, but I started crafting back in Hungary, many years ago. My curiosity started with drawing and painting but wasn't able to stop at those, so later I wrote novels, learned sewing, graphics, tailoring, paper mache, wood carving, design, cosplay, prop making, bookbinding, jewellery making, and many more media and technique.

This webshop is for people who appreciate handcrafted items made by love and care in a unique way. If you have any questions, would like to ask for a commission or a collaboration (Yes, I'm happy to do those too!) Don't hesitate to message me here on the website, directly in email, or on my Instagram. Until that, here are some of my previous works as examples, hope you will like them!

  • Collaboration work - Armor

The gorgeous i.am.genevieve, special effects makeup artist asked me to make her an armor for a photoshoot. I was more than happy to make it! Please check out her Instagram!

  • Original costume armor and props

I love to make original character costumes, especially armors from polyfoam, worbla or polymorph. Perfect for photoshoots, roleplays or comicons.

  • Cosplay armor

This female genderbend Skurge from the movie Thor Ragnarok was one of my favourites. Just look at that axe!

  • Bags or backpacks

This one was a side bag what I made originally for myself. When people saw it asked me to make many different variations, such as bear, dinosaur and other colored cats. Strong and cute.

  • Pencilcases or pouches

I still do these cases in different colors and patterns. Very cute, handy and useful. Nothing ever fell out from mine and I use it years ago!

  • Props

This skull is a head piece, and was made for my very first original character armor, from scratch. The base is polyfoam, coated with polymorph and maxed out with four paper mache horns. Love to do props!

  • Pillows, Cushions and plushies

These pillows are one of my first designs near my plushies. Just kawaii in every colour, no?

  • Pendants

Always loved to make accessories with mixed media. For these pendants I used resin, real shells, stones, cabochons, charms, buttons and rhynestones.

  • gift or accessory boxes

The other big favourite of mine - to have beautiful boxes on the shelves! Nicer to keep our smaller belongings in these than in plain ones, and even better if it's for a gift!
